This episode is on Venerable Matthew Talbot who lived from 1856 to 1925. Matthew was declared venerable on October 3, 1975 and his feat day is June 19th. He is the patron of alcoholics and addicts. When a person is declared venerable in the Catholic Church it means that their life has demonstrated to have attained a certain level of sanctity and is worthy of imitation. Their cause may continue on to become a blessed or saint.
